GHOULS GONE WILD! National GTA Rally
Friday, October 31, 2008

Happy Halloween! The United States Road Rally Challenge kicks off with the Ghouls Gone Wild National GTA Rally. A mildly tricky Halloween-themed event is planned by our head Warlock. The event ends well before dark and as a special treat, dinner is provided by the rally committee.

THE BEAVER CLEAVER National Course Rally
Saturday, November 1, 2008

Put on your thinking cap and get ready for the latest edition of the Beaver Cleaver – Oregon's premier course rally. This year's event features Numbered Route Instructions (NRIs), Lettered Route Instructions (LRIs) and variable Main Road Determinants (MRDs). The rally traverses the best rally roads in Marion and Clackamas counties, including a few unpaved roads. Contestants follow the rally course by properly applying the NRIs, the LRIs and the MRDs in a manner consistent with the Road Rally Rules and the event’s general instructions. Controls include DIYC and open controls. Traps are of moderate to easy difficulty. It is the rallymaster’s intent that experienced contestants will do most traps correctly. The event concludes with dinner provided by the rally committee.

THE BARLOW TRAIL National Tour Rally
Sunday, November 2, 2008

The Barlow Trail National Tour Rally is a moderately challenging event traveling through the scenic Willamette Valley and the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Speeds tend toward the brisk side. Some unpaved roads are used. Controls are a mix of open and passage style controls. The Barlow Trail traverses both new roads and old favorites. The event concludes at the scenic Multnomah Falls Lodge with dinner provided by the rally committee.

FREE Sportsman Entry
The Oregon Region USRRC Committee is offering one free entry per region outside of our NorPac Division to a 'Sportsman' competitor, with 'Sportsman' being defined as any competitor with zero SCCA RoadRally Lifetime Points. The committee will also offer assistance to Sportsman competitors new to the Challenge. To familiarize the Sportsman competitors with some of the nuances of course rallying, a basic Sportsman seminar is offered following the GTA on Friday.
