THE BEAVER CLEAVER National Course Rally
A Beaver Walks Among Us
Saturday, August 25, 2007
Put on your thinking cap and get ready for the sixth running of
the Beaver Cleaver - Oregon's premier course rally. This year's edition will once again feature Numbered Route Instructions (NRIs), Lettered Route Instructions (LRIs) and variable Main Road Determinants (MRDs). The generally paved 200-mile course will traverse the best rally roads in the Multnomah and Washington County areas. Contestants will need to be able to follow a rally course by properly applying the NRIs, the LRIs and the MRDs in a manner consistent with the Road Rally Rules and the events general instructions. Controls will include do-it-yourself and open controls. Traps will range from fairly mild to pretty wild. Absence of the sign will be used. Aristotle will not. It is the rallymasters intent that the majority of experienced contestants should do most traps correctly. The event will conclude with awards and a no-host dinner.
THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE National Touring Rally
Sunday, August 26, 2007
This event will be a casual tour over scenic country roads starting from the HQ hotel, and traveling to Astoria and the historic Astoria Column prior to returning to the local area. This mostly paved 200+ mile rally course will traverse the best rally roads in the Northwestern coast range areas. Scenery will be plentiful but don't spend too much time enjoying the view, you'll still need to stay on time. The route will be simple to follow and well marked so contestants should have no difficulty in staying on course. |
